Case Study: Custom workshops that transform teams
Stavanger, Norway
About the project
Empowering teams with the right skills isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s a game changer. Studies show that companies that invest in upskilling see over 20% higher employee engagement and increased productivity across departments. Why? Because when people feel confident and capable, they communicate more clearly, collaborate more effectively, and share ideas that actually land.
Whether it’s simplifying data-heavy presentations, making scientific research easier to follow, strengthening workplace communication, or teaching tools like Canva or Premiere Pro—my workshops are practical, energizing, and tailored to each team’s unique needs.
The result? Teams that save time, reduce stress, and do better work—with clarity and confidence.
🎯 Rystad Energy – Making Complex Data Understandable
Challenge:
Rystad Energy, a company deeply rooted in complex datasets, needed help making their insights more engaging and less overwhelming for external and internal audiences.
Solution:
I designed a custom workshop that focused on:
Presenting data in bite-size, digestible pieces
Using infographics, maps, and modern data visuals
Communicating expertise without overwhelming viewers
I also created a suite of Canva templates, including:
Geographic infographics
Carousel slides featuring one data point each
One-page, modern infographics
Outcome:
The team walked away with clear strategies and easy-to-use templates that made their communication cleaner, more professional, and more impactful.
🧪 Skretting Research Team – From text-heavy to talk-ready
Challenge:
Scientists on Skretting’s research team had valuable insights—but their slides were packed with text and dense data, making it hard for audiences to stay engaged.
Solution:
We focused on presentation mindset and slide design, anchored around what I call the “Salad Theory”:
If you order a salad and get a full tomato and head of lettuce, you're doing all the work yourself. Same with slides—don’t make your audience do the heavy lifting.
Key takeaways included:
Reducing slide content to amplify spoken delivery
Spreading content across multiple slides: One key takeaway per slide
Respecting white space: “Your slide is a bottle—don’t overfill it.”
Outcome:
The team learned to shift their mindset: prioritize clarity, lean on visuals, and use slides as a tool—not a transcript.
🗣 Skretting Product Team – Building Assertiveness Across Cultures
Challenge:
A culturally diverse product team struggled with differing communication styles, especially around assertiveness and clarity.
Solution:
We explored cultural expectations around disagreement, expression, and communication. The workshop became a lively discussion around:
The meaning of assertiveness in different cultures
Why being clear is kind (and how to do it respectfully)
How personality types affect assertiveness
Outcome:
The team gained mutual understanding and actionable tools for expressing themselves more openly and effectively—while respecting each other’s styles.
🎬 ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) – Upskilling in video editing
Challenge:
With ONS going fully virtual for the first time, their communications team needed to edit recorded sessions—fast.
Solution:
I delivered a focused Premiere Pro training for non-editors, giving them just what they needed to:
Cut and polish videos
Add intros/outros
Manage simple graphics and transitions
Outcome:
The team felt empowered and equipped to create clean, professional video content with minimal effort—saving time and stress during the transition to virtual.
