Turning slides into a brand experience

Client: Nysnø
Nysnø already had a clear and recognisable brand identity, with a strong colour palette, typography and logo. The next step was to bring more of that personality into their PowerPoint presentations.
I was asked to develop a new template that gave the team more flexibility and variation, while making the slides feel more connected to the Nysnø brand.
Approach: I started by exploring how the elements Nysnø already had could be brought to life in a presentation setting.
The “ø” in Nysnø became an important part of this exploration. I played with using the shape as a visual element, filling it with photography and experimenting with it across different brand colours. This also inspired me to introduce more circular shapes throughout the template, particularly in image placeholders, creating a subtle connection between the slides and the logo.
I worked with the two typefaces already in Nysnø’s brand toolkit, a serif and a sans serif, exploring different combinations to create more variation and hierarchy across the layouts. The brand colours were also built directly into the PowerPoint template, making them easier to use consistently without having to set them up manually.
Alongside the template, I curated a gallery of photography that Nysnø could use across presentations and other communications, including their website, brochures, posters and reports.
To make the new template easy to get started with, I also created a short video showing the team how to use it and make the most of the different layouts and features.
Result:
The new template gave Nysnø a more flexible and recognisable way to express their brand through presentations. It introduced more variation in layouts, brought photography and the “ø” element into the visual language, and made it easier to use Nysnø’s colours and typography consistently.
A brand new photo gallery that could be used in slides but also in reports, brochures, their website and event branding.
A new visual expression of their logo that can be used in presentations but also in other formats, to reinforce the brand and add visual interest.
The project started in November and by January the new template was fully in use, and the project included a simple guide/video tutorial to guide the team working with it and getting the most value out of their new template.
